08/14/02 Design of Roto-Killer's logo is complete. It is composed of three Thurisaz runes. Click the link to learn more about the Thurisaz rune and our new logo.

07/22/02 We've (finally!!) come up with a logo design. It fits very well with the vision we have for Roto-Killer. Lance has been tasked w/ the artwork and it should be pretty cool once complete.

07/08/02 Received Bosch GPA 750W motors previously used in SlamJob. Gave motors a quick test at 24V using 2 parallel strings. The gearboxes (which have 2.4:1 reduction) will need to be rebuilt. They sound noisy due to misalignment and frame welds have some breaks. Otherwise these motors are just the ticket and worth more than what was paid for them (well below the retail cost of $172 each). We will probably be using a minimum of 9:1 total reduction to give us a pushing force of 440 lbs (2x weight of bot).

05/31/02 roto-killer.com is born!

05/26/02 Hub design is complete. Need to get new belt for lathe (unfortunately the belt installation requires much dissasembly) and order aluminum bars to build them.

05/07/02 Received used 8" Colsons. Unfortunately they have been modified so we will be unable to use standard hubs (mental note: Trying to save $ always creates more work).

04/10/02 Ordered Colson casters from a seller on e-bay.

Used Colson 8X2 Wheels

03/05/02 Surplus motors received and tested. They'll have to work for now.

03/01/02 We have numerous used Exide-Yuasa 12V 5ah SLA batteries that we'll be using.

02/28/02 We've determined what we'll use for the frame. U shaped 6061T-6 channels They may be heavy (1lb. per 12" length) but they are strong and you can't beat the cost (free).

Relay racks (rescued from dumpster)

02/27/02 Design concept for Roto-Killer was created.
